Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to comment on major national and international developments, including the end of the war in Gaza and the ongoing government shutdown.

On October 8, 2025, Alford praised former President Donald Trump for his role in ending the conflict in Gaza. The following day, Alford addressed the ongoing government shutdown, which he referred to as the "Schumer Shutdown." Alford has represented Missouri's 4th District since 2023, succeeding Vicky Hartzler in Congress. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988.
