Mizzou's women's tennis team will compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Fall Central Regional Championship, which is set to take place in Norman, Oklahoma, from Thursday, Oct. 16 through Monday, Oct. 20.
The event will bring together teams from across the region, including Memphis, Nebraska, Missouri State, Kansas, Oral Roberts, UMKC, Kansas State, Wichita State, North Dakota, Iowa, Tulsa, Arkansas, Drake, Arkansas State, Minnesota, Iowa State and Saint Louis. Both singles and doubles matches are scheduled to be played on outdoor hard courts with a single-elimination format.
Mizzou will have two players—sophomore Korina Roso and graduate student Michelle Kleynerman—in the main draw. Six additional Tigers are set to participate in the qualifying rounds.
Reflecting on last season’s ITA Fall Central Regional Championship held in Memphis, Tennessee, sophomore Gian Octa advanced to the finals after securing four wins in singles play.
Following the tournament in Norman, Mizzou is scheduled to conclude its fall season by traveling to San Diego to face San Diego State from Nov. 7-9.
