Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on October 16, 2025, regarding healthcare issues and ongoing government funding debates.

In a post made that day, Alford expressed appreciation for a hospital visit, stating, "Thank you to CEO Robert Marsh, who joined Centerpoint in June 2022, for leading our tour and for his team’s commitment to serving patients and families with compassion." He also addressed financial concerns faced by the hospital, noting, "The hospital is funded 70% through Medicaid, and their team expressed concerns about upcoming Medicaid reforms. My office is working to support their efforts and ensure continued access to the Rural Health Transformation Fund, which helps facilities like Centerpoint continue" (October 16, 2025).

Later the same day, Alford commented on the ongoing federal government shutdown, writing, " Day 16 of the Schumer Shutdown Federal workers are missing paychecks. Democrats are demanding Medicaid for illegals and woke spending abroad. @HouseGOP already passed a bill to fund the government—Schumer’s pride is the only thing keeping it closed."

Mark Alford has represented Missouri’s 4th district since 2023, succeeding Vicky Hartzler. Born in Baytown, Texas, in 1963, he resides in Lake Winnebago and holds a BA from the University of Texas at Austin, awarded in 1988.
