Mizzou tennis began its participation in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Regional Championship on October 16, with several athletes advancing in both singles and doubles play.

The tournament, hosted by Oklahoma, saw Missouri sophomore Zoe Lazar claim an initial singles victory over Hanmare McAslin of Arkansas State. Lazar advanced to the round of 32 but was later defeated by Martaa Chogsomjav from Kansas State.

Sophomore Gian Octa won two singles matches, first against Uta Asakura from Tulsa and then Anlin Xie from Minnesota, earning a place in the round of 16. Octa is set to face Natalia Koppova from Memphis in the next round.

Other singles matches saw sophomore Julie Bedard and freshman Alex Ackman lose to Carolina from Tulsa and Yuzu Miyoshi from Nebraska-Lincoln, respectively.

In doubles play, Octa and Ackman were defeated by Andrea Pineda and Alva Norberg of North Dakota. However, the pairs of Michelle Kleynerman/Bedard, Mary Brumfield/Andrea Artimedi, and Lazar/Korina Roso all won their matches in the round of 64 and will move on to the round of 32.

Mizzou is scheduled to continue competing on October 17 in Norman, Oklahoma. Octa will play in the singles round of 16, while the three doubles teams will compete in their respective matches.
