Rep. Mark Alford, U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 4th district since 2023, criticized Democratic actions in a series of tweets on October 17, 2025. Alford commented on upcoming political events and the ongoing government shutdown.

On October 17, Alford wrote, "Tomorrow’s “No Kings” rally isn’t about freedom—it’s about feeding the Far-Left spectacle that’s driving the Democrat Party."

Later that day, he addressed the ongoing government shutdown in a thread. In his first post at 20:59 UTC, he stated: ": Day 17 of the Schumer Shutdown

Here’s what Democrats have done

Voted 11 times to keep the government closed.

Blocked a bipartisan bill to pay our troops.

Planned a “Hate America” rally instead of doing their jobs.

It’s not leadership—it’s a spectacle."

In a follow-up tweet posted one second later, Alford continued: "They had 11 chances to reopen the government.

Instead, Democrats chose to:

Block troop pay

Film TikToks

Plan a “No Kings” rally

That’s not public service. That’s performance art."

Mark Alford succeeded Vicky Hartzler in Missouri's 4th congressional district and has served in Congress since 2023. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford holds a BA from the University of Texas at Austin, earned in 1988.
