Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently commented on national defense and ongoing political disputes through a series of posts on his social media account.

On November 3, 2025, Alford expressed support for the B-21 bomber program, stating: "General Cotton and Vice Adm. Correll have it right: 140–150 B-21s are essential for America’s security. The B-21 program is performing, it’s accountable, and it’s on time and on budget — a rare win for taxpayers and warfighters alike. We feel that strength right here in https://t.co/H1LMg5wP9w".

Later that day, he addressed the ongoing government shutdown by attributing responsibility to Democratic lawmakers: "Day 34 of the Schumer Shutdown: Democrats are causing misery for the American people. SNAP, WIC, & the military were fully funded by @HouseGOP Sept 19 — they’ve done nothing. MO-04 is stepping up https://t.co/uSKWi3AkYD".

On November 4, Alford reiterated his position regarding the government shutdown: "Day 35 of the #SchumerShutdown. Tied for the longest shutdown in history — and Democrats caused it. They broke it. They need to fix it."

Alford has served as a member of Congress since replacing Vicky Hartzler in 2023 and represents Missouri's 4th District. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently resides in Lake Winnebago at age 59. Alford earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988.
