Senator Eric Schmitt has recently addressed disaster recovery efforts and federal funding allocations for Missouri in a series of social media posts. The tweets focus on FEMA's financial support following severe storms that impacted St. Louis in May 2025, as well as the senator’s ongoing collaboration with federal and local officials.

On November 5, 2025, Schmitt highlighted concerns regarding administrative processes, stating, "If you want to see how insane this abuse has become, look no further than this. Looking forward to working with the administration to finally fix these issues."

Later the same day, he shared news about federal assistance for storm recovery: "Great news—Today, FEMA is deploying $59 million of the estimated $180 million I helped secure for St. Louis to help with recovery efforts after the May storms. This funding will bolster state and local efforts remove debris, protect public health and safety, and support St." The announcement follows significant damage caused by severe weather events earlier in the year.

On November 6, 2025, Schmitt reiterated his involvement in securing aid for Missouri: "This week, Missouri will receive the first batch of funding to help recover from May's devastating storms. Proud to work with the Trump admin, @GovMikeKehoe, and @saintlouismayor Cara Spencer to secure this much-needed @fema funding for St. Louis."

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster relief funds are commonly distributed after major weather events to assist communities in debris removal and restoration of essential services. Senator Schmitt represents Missouri in the U.S. Senate and has previously advocated for increased federal resources following natural disasters.
