Mizzou women's tennis completed the first day of competition at the San Diego State Fall Classic on November 7. The event, hosted by San Diego State University, saw the Tigers participate in both singles and doubles quarterfinal matches.

The doubles round began at 10 a.m., with Andrea Artimedi and Mary Brumfield securing a 6-1 victory over Colorado State's Hanna Haber and Annika Planinsek in the red flight. Another Mizzou pair, Korina Roso and Zoe Lazar, also won their match, defeating Gabby Gregg and Maria Shmakov from the University of San Diego 6-2.

Other doubles teams from Missouri, Michelle Kleynerman/Alex Ackman and Gian Octa/Julie Bedard, did not advance past their quarterfinal matches.

In singles play, graduate student Michelle Kleynerman faced Diana Lizarazo from Colorado State but was forced to retire due to injury. Mary Brumfield advanced after her opponent from SDSU, Teja Tirunelveli, retired from their match as well.
