Missouri Tigers advance in doubles and singles at SDSU Fall Classic

Mizzou tennis continued its run at the San Diego State Fall Classic on Saturday, Nov. 8, advancing to the semifinals in both doubles and singles events.

The doubles team of Andrea Artimedi and Mary Brumfield opened the day with a win against Stanford's Emma Sun and Morgan Shaffer. Another pair, Zoe Lazar and Korina Roso, also secured a victory over Colorado State. However, Alex Ackman and Julie Bedard fell short in their match against Hanna Haber and Annika Planinsek from Colorado State.

In singles play, graduate student Mary Brumfield was defeated by Maria Shmakova from the University of San Diego. Senior Andrea Artimedi won her match against a Colorado State opponent in straight sets, 7-6 (5), 6-2. Sophomore Korina Roso beat Alejandra Hidalgo Vega from North Carolina Central, while fellow sophomore Zoe Lazar claimed a win over Stanford's Morgan Shaffer. Julie Bedard added another win for Missouri by defeating Madison Weekley of Saint Mary's.

Competition will continue tomorrow at 10 a.m. CT with live streaming available.
