Ten Missouri cross country athletes earn spots on Academic All-Big 12 teams

Ten runners from the University of Missouri cross country teams have been recognized for their academic achievements by being named to the Academic All-Big 12 teams, according to an announcement from the Big 12 Conference.

On the women’s team, senior Kim Moore, sophomore Amanda Bales, sophomore Serena Ramsey, and sophomore Lesley Smith were selected for the first team. Senior Ashley McLeod earned a spot on the second team. Notably, Serena Ramsey led all Tigers with a 4.0 GPA.

For the men’s team, senior Andrew Norton, junior Ryan Hampton, sophomore David Mertens, and sophomore Neville Miller received first team honors. Senior Tim Dunne was named to the second team.

The Academic All-Big 12 distinction recognizes student-athletes who excel both in their sport and in their academic pursuits.
