Graduates earn 231 degrees, certificates from Stephens College

About 27.7 percent of the 231 degrees and certificates handed out by Stephens College in 2017-18 were to students in visual and performing arts programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Columbia conferred 47 bachelor's degrees and 17 master's degrees in visual and performing arts programs.

But the single most popular program was for a master's degree in counselor education/school counseling and guidance services. Data shows the school gave out 31 master's degrees in counselor education/school counseling and guidance services, followed by 31 bachelor's degrees in health information/medical records administration/administrator and 23 bachelor's degrees in fashion merchandising.

The college enrolled 756 students for 2017-18, including 555 in undergraduate programs and 201 in graduate programs.
