Cost of college went up for all students at Moberly Area Community College

In-state tuition and fees rose 4.2 percent for 2018-19 at Moberly Area Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Missouri residents paid $5,220 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $210 more than the $5,010 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 31 percent more than residents this year, or $6,840. Their price tag grew 3.6 percent from $6,600 in 2017-18.

About 96 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Missouri residents. And about 4 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 89 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 723 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.6 million and 125 students took out student loans totaling more than $379,566.

Including all undergraduates (5,202), 2,694 students used grants or scholarships totaling $12.1 million, and 972 students took out $4.6 million in federal student loans.
