The University of Missouri Health Care and UnitedHealthcare have announced an extension of their contract. This development reaffirms their ongoing partnership aimed at delivering quality health care within the region. UnitedHealthcare members now have the assurance of continued access to MU Health Care's services and facilities in the years ahead.

Dr. Steve Whitt, MU Health Care's chief medical officer, expressed satisfaction with the agreement. "We are incredibly proud to have UnitedHealthcare as a trusted partner willing to stand alongside us through our region’s challenging health care and economic environment," he stated. He added that the extension underscores a mutual dedication to the state's health and the interests of patients, emphasizing the importance of maintaining service stability in the local health care market.

The new contractual terms cover UnitedHealthcare's commercial members, inclusive of those insured via employer plans or the Affordable Care Act marketplace, as well as Medicare Advantage plan holders.
