Rep. Mark Alford, U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 4th district since 2023, recently shared a series of posts on his social media account addressing federal funding for nuclear research, reflections on faith, and the U.S. Marine Corps anniversary.

On November 8, 2025, Alford highlighted concerns about delayed funding for the University of Missouri Reactor Operations. He wrote, "HELD HOSTAGE: $4.2 MILLION for University of Missouri Reactor Operations. This investment means life-saving cancer treatments, high-paying jobs, and Missouri leading nuclear research…and this investment is STALLED by the Left’s #SchumerShutdown!"

The following day, November 9, 2025, Alford posted a message referencing scripture and encouraging community support: "Scripture reminds us today that we are called to be people ‘full of goodness,’ grounded in truth. We aren’t meant to sit on the sidelines. God equips us with knowledge and boldness to strengthen one another in faith. Let’s make an effort on lifting each other up, speaking truth".

On November 10, 2025, he marked the anniversary of the United States Marine Corps with a celebratory note: "250 years strong. The legacy of the world’s fiercest fighting force lives on. Happy Birthday, Marines! #SemperFi".

Alford succeeded Vicky Hartzler as representative for Missouri's 4th district in 2023 and has since focused on issues such as federal investments in research and veteran recognition. Born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently residing in Lake Winnebago, Alford graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in 1988.
