Boone County warns of severe weather with potential tornadoes

The National Weather Service St. Louis office has issued a Moderate Risk warning for severe weather expected to impact the region late this afternoon and evening. The Boone County Office of Emergency Management has alerted residents to prepare for a fast-moving line of storms.

The primary threat from these storms is damaging straight-line winds, which could exceed 80 mph. Additionally, there is a possibility of large hail and strong tornadoes, classified as EF2 or higher.

Residents are advised to stay informed about the weather conditions and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
