On May 29, 2025, the Boone County Assessor's office sent out 56,000 "Change of Assessment" notices to property owners. These notices included instructions for inquiries and details about the appeal process. The reassessment was mandated by the Missouri State Tax Commission.

Approximately 2,600 changes were due to new construction, partial valuations, alterations, additions, parcel splits, or combinations. The remaining changes stemmed from a 2025 equalization effort focused on residential properties. This effort was based on an analysis of the housing market as required by Missouri law.
