The Missouri Association of Counties (MAC), established in 1972, is a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization aimed at enhancing county government. It was created by county elected officials to offer services, research, uniformity, and coordination among member counties to help them serve their constituents effectively. The mission of MAC is "to promote county interests, support best practices, and provide services to ensure fair, effective, efficient government for the good of all counties and taxpayers."
