The Boone County Joint Communications (BCJC) and Moberly Area Community College (MACC) have announced the launch of a ten-week Emergency Telecommunicator Course. This program is the result of a collaboration between BCJC and MACC, featuring an International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) approved curriculum taught by BCJC staff.

Participants in the course will engage in 40 hours of classroom study, supplemented by 10 hours on a dispatch simulator provided by BCJC. Additionally, students will spend 10 hours observing telecommunicators at the Boone County Emergency Communications Center.

Instructors for the course are BCJC staff members who are employed by MACC for this purpose. To support this initiative, Boone County has agreed to provide funding to MACC as partial reimbursement for instructor costs.
