Today, Congressman Mark Alford from Missouri's 4th District expressed his satisfaction following the House Republicans' approval of H.R. 1, known as the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act. The bill now awaits President Trump's signature to become law.

"In a watershed moment for the American people, Republicans’ One Big, Beautiful Bill is headed to President Trump’s desk," stated Congressman Alford. "This critical legislation delivers on our mandate by enacting the America First agenda. H.R. 1 includes the largest tax cut for middle- and working-class Americans in history, an historic investment in border security, and provisions to unleash domestic oil, natural gas, and nuclear energy production."

Alford emphasized the financial impact of the bill: "In a strong step toward restoring fiscal sanity, we’re cutting almost $2 trillion in federal spending, rescinding billions in Green New Scam funding, and eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse from numerous federal programs. I was proud to support this legislation on the House floor."

The One Big, Beautiful Bill Act proposes several changes:

- It aims to increase wages for Missouri workers by $5,200-$9,900 and raise take-home pay for a typical family of four by $6,900-$11,600.

- The act prevents what would have been the largest tax hike in U.S. history while offering significant tax cuts for working and middle-class families.

- Tax reforms include no taxes on tips or overtime and additional breaks for seniors.

- It introduces an average 15% tax reduction for those earning between $15,000-$80,000 annually.

- Protection measures are included for Missouri farms and small businesses through expanded death tax exemptions.

- The bill seeks to maintain competitiveness among American small businesses by enhancing and permanently establishing the 199A small business deduction.

- A focus on border security is evident with plans to reverse previous policies through substantial investments including completing phase two of the border wall.

- Military modernization efforts are outlined alongside funding initiatives like those for Golden Dome projects.

- Energy independence is targeted by boosting domestic production of oil and gas resources while reducing costs.

The legislation also outlines measures such as Medicaid work requirements aimed at able-bodied adults without dependents and reforms within SNAP to ensure accountability.
