Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on July 17, 2025, addressing central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), Second Amendment issues, and military preparedness.
In a tweet from July 17, Alford wrote: "Under Republican leadership, America will NEVER adopt the creepy, Communist China style surveillance tool known as a Central Bank Digital Currency. Let's pass @GOPMajorityWhip's CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act!"
Later that day, he expressed support for fellow Representative Andrew Clyde and efforts to protect gun rights through appropriations legislation: "Proud to fight alongside @Rep_Clyde on @HouseAppropsGOP to secure these 2A wins! https://t.co/1zmClqJDS9" (posted July 17).
In another post on July 17 regarding defense funding bills in the House Appropriations Committee, Alford stated: "The defense @HouseAppropsGOP bill isn't just a matter of policy, it's a matter of preparedness. @HouseGOP is ensuring our troops are well-equipped and our military remains dominant. https://t.co/QYhMttjCzW"
Alford has served as Missouri’s representative since replacing Vicky Hartzler in 2023. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and resides in Lake Winnebago. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in 1988.
