Rep. Mark Alford, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 4th district since 2023, posted a series of statements on July 18, 2025, addressing congressional transparency and fiscal policy.

In a post published at 01:31 UTC, Alford referenced recent calls for openness in government proceedings: "The President has called for transparency. Now, Congress is too with this resolution I am cosponsoring. That being said, talk is cheap. We must see action. Until then, all options remain on the table."

Later that day at 13:21 UTC, he commented on efforts to manage federal spending: "Look, we are on a course correction when it comes to spending in Congress. We at @HouseAppropsGOP are working to ensure that all 12 of our subcommittee bills pass and reduce total spending!" A subsequent tweet posted at 13:30 UTC contained only a link: "https://t.co/GgTZyh39xZ".

Alford has been an active participant in legislative discussions since taking office after replacing Vicky Hartzler in 2023. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford earned his BA from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988.
