Today, Congressman Mark Alford of Missouri's 4th District, along with Congressmen Tony Gonzales from Texas and Don Davis from North Carolina, introduced a House Resolution. This resolution aims to congratulate the Airmen of the 509th and 131st Bomb Wings for their successful completion of Operation Midnight Hammer.

“Under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump, Operation Midnight Hammer was executed with unparalleled coordination, precision, and competence to decapitate Iran’s nuclear program,” said Congressman Alford. “The men and women of the 509th and 131st Bomb Wings out of Whiteman Air Force Base showed their exemplary dedication and skill. They deserve the recognition of the American people’s elected representatives. That’s why I’m proud to introduce this Resolution to honor their service and success.”

Congressman Davis remarked on the operation's impact: “The B-2s’ historic precision strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities highlighted the unparalleled capability of the United States military, as well as the exceptional bravery of the bomber and fighter pilots, crew members, and maintenance teams who flawlessly executed the mission.” He added that these individuals are heroes who have worked effectively to protect America in response to threats from Iran.

Congressman Tony Gonzales shared his perspective based on his military experience: “During my 20 years of military service, including multiple campaigns in the Middle East, I served side by side with the finest troops in the world. No matter what the mission is, American servicemembers always rise to the challenge, and Operation Midnight Hammer in Iran is no exception.”

The resolution has additional support from Rep. John Carter (TX-31), Rep. Sam Graves (MO-06), and Rep. Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06).

Missouri’s Fourth Congressional District includes Whiteman Air Force Base, home to both bomb wings involved in this operation. Congressman Alford serves as Co-chair of the Congressional Long Range Strike Caucus.
