Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on July 21, 2025, highlighting his legislative priorities and community engagement.
In a tweet from the afternoon of July 21, Alford addressed U.S. Commerce Secretary Lutnick regarding national artificial intelligence policy: "We're urging @CommerceGov Secretary Lutnick to finalize a two-prong approach to make America the global AI capital. We need a strategy to limit foreign adversaries’ ability to develop frontier AI AND enable American firms to compete in the marketplace." (July 21, 2025).
Later that day, Alford shared details from his visit to Warrensburg, Missouri: "Thanks for the warm welcome, Warrensburg! Enjoyed lunch at Fitter's with Mayor Bruce Uhler, City Manager Mike Schrage, Kristen Dorman, and Suzanne Taylor. We discussed securing funding for rural programs and key projects like the highway interchange to support our growing" (July 21, 2025).

Alford has represented Missouri’s 4th District since replacing Vicky Hartzler in Congress in 2023. Born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently residing in Lake Winnebago, he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in 1988.
