Senator Eric Schmitt has recently taken to social media to comment on the conduct of federal judges and the state of public safety in American cities. In a series of posts published between August 8 and August 11, 2025, Schmitt criticized what he described as judicial overreach and addressed concerns about violent crime, particularly in Washington, D.C.

On August 8, 2025, Schmitt stated, "Since January, we have faced an epidemic of rogue federal judges ignoring the law and Supreme Court in a mad dash to thwart the President's agenda." On the same day, he commented on a specific legal matter involving Judge Boasberg: "Second, Judge Boasberg's oral orders were likely well beyond his authority and the government was correct to base its conduct on his narrower written order."

Three days later, on August 11, 2025, Schmitt turned his attention to urban crime rates. He wrote: "Violent crime and disorder plagues all of our once-great American cities. But the utter state of Washington, D.C.—our capital city—is uniquely embarrassing. President Trump is right. It's time to restore order. Get these violent thugs OFF OUR STREETS."

Schmitt is a U.S. Senator who has previously served as Missouri’s Attorney General. His comments reflect ongoing national debates about judicial authority and public safety policies in major U.S. cities.
