Senator Eric Schmitt | U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt
Senator Eric Schmitt highlighted Missouri’s agricultural and educational sectors in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) on August 14 and 15, 2025. Schmitt, who represents Missouri in the U.S. Senate, praised local organizations and institutions while attending state events.
On August 14, Schmitt acknowledged the importance of local utilities with the statement: "Missouri would be in the dark without the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives. Be sure to stop by their building as you make your way through the fair!" The Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives provides electric power to rural communities across the state, playing a critical role in supporting both residents and businesses.
Later that day, he posted about Missouri's corn production: "Fun fact: @MissouriCorn farmers can produce over 600 million bushels of corn - enough to fill the Arch more than 30,000 times!" Corn is one of Missouri’s leading crops, contributing significantly to both state and national agriculture output.
On August 15, Schmitt visited the University of Missouri campus and met with football coach Eliah Drinkwitz. He wrote: "Visited @Mizzou to catch up with @CoachDrinkwitz. The Tigers are gearing up for a great season—MIZ!" The University of Missouri is known for its athletic programs as well as its research initiatives.
The senator’s recent social media activity comes during a period when state fairs and university preparations are underway across Missouri. These events often serve as platforms for public officials to engage with constituents and highlight local achievements.
