Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on August 15, 2025, addressing both foreign policy and legislative matters.

In his first post, Alford marked the anniversary of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan: "A somber anniversary: four years ago today, the Biden-Harris administration’s disastrous withdrawal handed Afghanistan to the Taliban. This tragedy weakened America’s standing and cost countless lives. Our troops deserve answers. @HouseGOP & @POTUS will hold Biden-Harris" (August 15, 2025).

Later that day, Alford commented on ongoing appropriations work in Congress under Chairman Tom Cole: "Under the leadership of Chairman @TomColeOK04, @HouseAppropsGOP is fighting to return to regular order and fiscal responsibility. We’ve gotten the vast majority of the 12 bills out of committee, and while we may need a short term CR to finish our work—we’ll get the job done." (August 15, 2025).

He also shared a third post containing only a link: "https://t.co/PHEsXejVeB" (August 15, 2025).

Mark Alford has served as Missouri's representative in Congress since replacing Vicky Hartzler in 2023. Born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently residing in Lake Winnebago, Alford earned his BA from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988.
