Trent Mierl has been named SEC Freshman of the Week for the second time this season, following a strong performance at The Hootie at Bulls Bay in South Carolina. Competing for the University of Missouri men's golf team, Mierl tied for seventh place among 84 golfers, achieving a career-best nine-under 207 (69-73-65). This result marks his second top-10 finish during the 2024-25 campaign.

Mierl's final round featured a seven-under 65, which stands as his best collegiate score and is also the third-best 18-hole score by a freshman in school history. During that round, he recorded two eagles on the par-5 fourth and tenth holes, along with four birdies and just one bogey.

"It was great to have another strong tournament and finish in the top 10 this week," Mierl said after the round. "The guys all played well this week and it's what we've been looking to see as a group all season. It's a great step to finishing the season off strong. MIZ!"

Earlier in the season, Mierl received SEC Freshman of the Week honors on September 18 after placing third at the Golfweek Put Me In Coach Invitational.

The Missouri Tigers will next compete when they host the Tiger Intercollegiate at The Club at Old Hawthorne starting Monday, April 7.
