Missouri women’s basketball hosts Vanderbilt for Senior Night as regular season concludes

The University of Missouri women's basketball team will host Vanderbilt on Sunday at 2 p.m. to conclude the 2024-25 regular season. The game, which will be streamed live on SEC Network+, also serves as Senior Night for the Tigers.

Missouri, holding a 14-16 overall record and 3-12 in Southeastern Conference play, will honor seniors De'Myla Brown, Laniah Randle, Nyah Wilson, and Angelique Ngalakulondi during a pregame ceremony. Additionally, head coach Robin Pingeton will be recognized for her 250th career victory with the program. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and be seated by 1:40 p.m.

After the game, there will be an additional recognition for Pingeton’s 15 years leading the Tigers. Earlier this week, Pingeton announced her decision to step away from the program at the end of this season to pursue new opportunities. "On Wednesday, Pingeton announced she would be stepping away from the program at the conclusion of the season and focusing on the next chapter of her career."

Missouri comes into Sunday's matchup following a win over Arkansas on Thursday. In that game, senior forward Laniah Randle scored a last-second basket to secure victory against their conference rival. Randle led Missouri with 20 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two blocks.

Other notable performances included sophomore guard Grace Slaughter, senior guard Tilda Sjökvist, and Brown each reaching double figures in scoring. Sjökvist set a new season high with 13 points.

Slaughter has been a key contributor throughout the season with an average of 15.5 points per game overall and 16.4 in conference games. She has scored in double figures in twelve consecutive contests and is ranked fifth nationally in three-point shooting percentage (46.2%) among players making at least 1.5 threes per game.

Within SEC rankings this season, Randle (49.8%) and Slaughter (50.2%) are eighth and ninth respectively in field goal percentage; Slaughter is also fourth in free throw percentage at 86.5%. Sophomore Abbey Schreacke stands sixth in made three-pointers (61) and seventh in three-point accuracy (38.1%).

As a team, Missouri ranks second in the SEC and tenth nationally for three-point shooting percentage at just over 37 percent.

Vanderbilt arrives with a record of 20-9 overall and is 7-8 within conference play after defeating Texas A&M on Thursday. The Commodores are coached by Shea Ralph who is completing her fourth year with a cumulative record of 71-57.

Vanderbilt's top scorers include Mikayla Blakes (23.1 points per game) and Khamil Pierra (20.9). This contest marks the fifteenth meeting between Missouri and Vanderbilt; Missouri leads the series ten games to four—including four wins out of six matchups played at Mizzou Arena.
