University of Missouri senior Callan Saldutto has qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the men's javelin after securing ninth place at the opening round held at E.B. Cushing Stadium in College Station, Texas, on Wednesday. Saldutto recorded a throw of 69.17 meters (226-11), marking his third consecutive meet with a distance at or above 69 meters (226-4.5). He will compete in the finals scheduled for June 11-14 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, where he aims to become the first Missouri Tiger to win a national championship in men's javelin.
In other events on day one, Sam Innes concluded his season by placing 13th in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 65.15 meters (213-9), narrowly missing qualification for the finals by just 0.01 meters.
On the track, Steven Marks finished 33rd in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.54 seconds. Lasse Funck also placed 33rd in the 800 meters with a time of 1:49.40. Drew Rogers completed his race in the men’s 10,000 meters with a time of 29:15.18.
