On the final day of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships opening round at E.B. Cushing Stadium in College Station, Texas, three athletes from the University of Missouri advanced to the next stage of competition.

Claudina Diaz and Kristi Perez-Snyman qualified for the women's high jump final after both cleared a height of 1.84 meters (6-0.5), earning fifth and seventh place respectively. Alicia Burnett secured her spot in the women's 100-meter semifinal by finishing eighth with a time of 11.10 seconds, improving her own school record in the process.

"The three will look to claim the first women's national title in their events in school history," according to university officials.

These athletes will join Callan Saldutto, Valentina Barrios, and Skylar Coffey as Missouri's representatives at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon for the national championship meet scheduled for June 11-15.

Other results from Saturday included Ames Burton placing 30th in women's discus with a throw of 52.03 meters (170-8). In the 5000-meter event, Monica Wanjiku finished 35th with a time of 16:38.21, while Rahel Broemmel took 41st place at 16:44.49.
