The University of Missouri swimming and diving teams will begin their 2025 season with a home meet against Louisville on Friday, January 3, at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. The event starts at 11 a.m., and admission is free to the public. Live results will be available through the Meet Mobile app and DiveMeets.
In their last competition, both the men's and women's squads finished fifth at the Georgia Invitational in November. The men scored 524 points, while the women earned 492.5 points.
Two Mizzou divers participated in the 2024 USA Diving Winter National Championships held in Bloomington, Indiana from December 11-15. Junior Collier Dyer placed fourth in senior men’s 3-meter diving with a score of 730.55 and finished fifth in senior men’s platform diving with a score of 747.45. Freshman Derek Colbert achieved tenth place in senior men’s platform diving with a score of 623.90.
The upcoming meet features Louisville's nationally ranked teams. The Mizzou men hold a 1-6 record against Louisville, whose men's team is currently ranked No. 10 by CSCAA with a season record of 1-2. The Mizzou women are winless in five head-to-head meetings against Louisville, whose women's team holds a perfect 4-0 record and is ranked No. 8 nationally.
The last meeting between these programs took place on January 5, 2024, at Ralph Wright Natatorium, where Missouri's men's team lost to Louisville by a score of 205-89 and the women's team fell by a margin of 203-96.
At the Georgia Invitational, several Tigers delivered notable performances:
- The men's 200 free relay team (Luke Nebrich, Grant Bochenski, Francois Malherbe, Darden Tate) posted an NCAA B cut qualifying time of 1:16.98 for fourth place.
- Megan Jolly achieved her best mark this season with a fourth-place finish in women’s 3-meter diving (297.45) and placed fifth in women’s 1-meter diving (265.20).
- Gabriela San Juan Carmona secured fifth place in women’s 3-meter diving (289.20).
- Grant Bochenski contributed to the men's medley relay success and placed second individually in the men's 100 backstroke (45.66). He also swam an individual split of 45.34 during the men's 400 medley relay.
- Jan Zubik earned bronze medals in both the men's 100 fly (45.99) and men's 200 fly (1:41.65).
- The men’s 200 medley relay team (Logan Ottke, Bochenski, Zubik, Nebrich) finished third with a time of 1:24.19.
- Collier Dyer took second place on the podium for men’s three-meter diving (373.80) and was fifth on platform (336.00).
- Karolina Bank placed fourth in women’s breaststroke (59.97), while Paige Striley was fifth in women’s butterfly (52.62).
- Alex Ochsenbein finished fifth in men’s breaststroke (52.60) and fourth in men’s breaststroke over longer distance (1:54.95).
- Derek Colbert reached his first career podium with second place on men’s platform diving (356.75).
- Mia Henninger set a personal best to take fourth place on women’s platform diving (240.65).
- Tommaso Zannella had his top performance this season with fourth place on men’s platform diving (336.20).
- Zara Zallen earned third place in women’s freestyle sprinting (48.58), while her relay teammates Francesca Smith, Katie Kuehn, Sierra Smith helped secure fifth place for their squad in the women's relay event (3:15.93).
After facing Louisville, Missouri will host Missouri State and McKendree at home from January 17–18 following a two-week break.
