Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on October 1, 2025, criticizing Senate Democrats over a government shutdown and their stance on healthcare for undocumented immigrants.
In his first tweet at 15:28 UTC, Alford wrote: " Day 1 of Washington Democrats’ Shutdown. @HouseGOP did its job, Senate Democrats refused to put you first. The American people deserve better than their representatives fighting for $1.5 trillion in reckless spending & free healthcare for illegal aliens."
Shortly after, at 15:45 UTC, he shared a link without additional commentary: "https://t.co/2Ia03uq1Iu"
Later that day at 17:11 UTC, Alford posted another statement challenging Democratic claims regarding healthcare policy: " SHUTDOWN FACT CHECK: Democrats are lying when they say they’re not trying to give free health care to illegal aliens Their own bill repeals protections that block taxpayer-funded benefits. @HouseGOP didn’t make this up. It’s right here: https://t.co/rxDckkURVh"
