Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has announced the introduction of the AI for Main Street Act aimed at supporting small businesses as they adapt to advancements in artificial intelligence.

On October 20, 2025, Alford posted on his official X account: "Main Street deserves a seat at the AI table.

That’s why I introduced the AI for Main Street Act with @RepScholten — to help small businesses learn, adapt, and compete in the age of AI.

America’s future isn’t just in Silicon Valley — it’s on Main Street. "

In another post later that day, Alford emphasized the importance of ensuring small businesses are not left behind by technological changes: " Small businesses are the backbone of our economy,  but as AI transforms how we work— Main Street needs a fair shot at innovation.

That’s why I introduced the AI for Main Street Act to make AI tools, training, and support accessible to every small business in MO-04 and https://t.co/VDuYQILFKK"

He has focused his legislative efforts on initiatives that aim to bring technological resources and opportunities to smaller communities outside traditional tech hubs like Silicon Valley.
