Public Hearing Scheduled for Proposed Construction at John William “Blind” Boone Home

The City of Columbia, Missouri has announced a public hearing scheduled for May 6, 2024, to discuss the proposed construction of improvements to the exterior of the historic John William “Blind” Boone Home. The hearing will take place at the Council Chamber of City Hall at 701 E. Broadway, Columbia, Missouri, at 7:00 p.m.

The city revealed that the estimated cost of the improvement project is $80,000.00. Funding for this project will come from General Revenue Funds and other lawfully appropriated sources.

In a statement, City Clerk Sheela Amin emphasized that the public hearing aims to provide all citizens and interested parties with an opportunity to voice their opinions and concerns regarding the proposed construction at the John William “Blind” Boone Home. Amin also highlighted that the City Council has ordered this hearing.
