Columbia City Council to hold public hearing on FY 2024 annual action plan

The Columbia City Council will hold a public hearing on June 17, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 701 E. Broadway, to consider the City’s FY 2024 Annual Action Plan. Copies of the draft document are available at 11 N. 7th and online at https://tinyurl.com/as3w2edb. Public comments will be accepted until 8:00 A.M. on June 28, 2024. The final document will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for approval along with public comments received and responses to those comments.

The City of Columbia receives Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) funding from HUD based on its population, demographics, and federal distribution formulas. An Annual Action Plan must be submitted each year to receive this funding. The FY 2024 Annual Action Plan identifies community development needs and funding priorities for FY 2024. This plan is part of a five-year cycle for fund expenditure.

For FY 2024, Columbia's funding includes $1,014,084 in CDBG funds and $473,214 in HOME funds.
