Senator Eric Schmitt | U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt
U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt appeared on Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle" to discuss President Trump's recent success in negotiating a ceasefire between Iran and Israel. During the interview, Schmitt praised the President's approach, highlighting the precision of military actions that led to this agreement.
Schmitt commented on the military operation, stating, “It’s pretty incredible. It’s a real master class, Laura. I think they will be writing books about this, the way to end the 12 Day war." He detailed how B-2 bombers from Missouri played a critical role in disabling Iran's nuclear program with high precision strikes.
The Senator also commended Trump's diplomatic efforts following the military engagement. “And then President Trump, which I think is very unique to him... immediately got on the phone and tried to broker peace. He is the ‘Peace President.’ That’s his natural inclination,” Schmitt remarked.
He emphasized Trump's restraint and focus on peace rather than prolonged conflict or regime change. Schmitt stated, “President Trump had that restraint and that instinct to do what needed to be done to bring about peace.”
Reflecting on Trump's foreign policy strategy, Schmitt said it marked a departure from previous approaches: “I think he did in a way that was very limited, with the specific goal of bringing about peace... He was very clear about that.” He noted this approach aligns with a new foreign policy perspective shared by himself and other politicians like J.D. Vance and Marco Rubio.
Schmitt concluded by expressing optimism for lasting peace and described it as "an incredible day and great feat."
