University of Missouri's men's basketball team has announced its captains for the 2025-26 season. Whitten Family Head Coach Dennis Gates appointed senior Mark Mitchell and junior Anthony Robinson II to these leadership roles.

Mitchell, recognized as an All-SEC player during his junior year by both coaches and media, led Mizzou with an average of 13.9 points in the 2024-25 season. He also contributed significantly with 4.7 rebounds, 64 assists, 32 steals, and topped the blocks chart with 25. His overall performance placed him among just 14 players nationwide to achieve a combination of over 450 points, 150 boards, along with notable assists, steals, and blocks.

Robinson was the sole underclassman on the SEC All-Defensive Team for the same season. He scored an average of 9.0 points per game while leading Mizzou with averages of 3.5 assists and 2.03 steals per game. In the SEC rankings, he was twelfth in assists and seventh in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.04, while placing second in conference steals and ranking thirty-eighth nationally.

The duo played a pivotal role in guiding the Tigers to secure twenty-two wins during their previous season as they finished sixth in a competitive SEC that had fourteen teams qualify for the NCAA Tournament—achieving three victories over top-five ranked schools nationally since the late '80s.
