Senator Eric Schmitt posted a series of statements on July 28, 2025, addressing judicial oversight and appointments within Missouri's legal system. In his comments, Schmitt called for action from the Trump administration regarding federal judges and endorsed two new interim U.S. Attorney appointments.

In a tweet published at 15:34 UTC, Schmitt urged the Trump administration to address concerns about judicial conduct, writing: "I encourage the Trump administration to consider filing a judicial misconduct complaint and to necessary measures to rein in rogue judges. Boasberg should face discipline, not the DOJ."

Later that day at 21:57 UTC, Schmitt commented on Thomas Albus’s professional background and recent appointment: "Thomas Albus served as First Assistant in Missouri's AG Office when I was Attorney General & played a key role defending our state from big government overreach. On a personal note, he is one of the finest attorneys I've ever known. He is going to be a great U.S. Attorney." In another post at the same time, Schmitt added praise for both Albus and Matthew Price following their selection as interim U.S. Attorneys by President Trump: "Great news—President Trump selected Thomas Albus and Matthew Price as interim U.S. Attorneys for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri. They are both law men through and through who will protect Missourians' rights and promote law and order."

Schmitt previously served as Missouri's Attorney General before being elected to the U.S. Senate.
