Senator Eric Schmitt, a U.S. Senator from Missouri, posted several statements on his Twitter account between July 31 and August 2, 2025, addressing national political controversies and local recovery efforts.

On July 31, Schmitt referenced a recent investigative report regarding the origins of the Russia investigation. He wrote, "New BOMBSHELL report proves that Russiagate was a complete hoax & those at the highest levels of our government knew about it but went along anyways. Time to hold those responsible accountable."

The following day, August 1, Schmitt described actions taken in response to severe weather events in Missouri earlier that year. In his tweet he stated, "Today I led the Missouri delegation in a letter to FEMA requesting they approve a debris removal mission for St. Louis recovery efforts following the storms in May. As our communities continue to recover, we'll keep working closely with President Trump and his administration".

On August 2, Schmitt addressed federal funding for public media organizations: "The American people should not be forced to fund left-wing propaganda outlets like NPR and PBS. Thanks to President Trump's rescissions package, those days ARE OVER. I was proud to lead this long overdue effort in the Senate."

Senator Schmitt’s posts reference ongoing debates about federal oversight of public broadcasting and reactions to past investigations into alleged foreign interference in U.S. elections—issues that have been contentious within American politics for several years. The senator’s remarks on disaster recovery follow damaging storms in Missouri during May 2025; such requests for federal aid are standard after major natural disasters as part of coordinated state-federal response efforts.
