Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, highlighted the opening of a new Milk Bank Depot at the Pettis County Health Department in a series of social media posts on August 6, 2025.

In one post from that day, Alford wrote: "Our team joined Mayor Andrew Dawson and Commissioner Bill Taylor to celebrate the opening of the Pettis County Health Department’s Milk Bank Depot. Moms can now donate extra breast milk locally, helping supply hospitals and giving back to the community. Always grateful to https://t.co/UNzm5HGfMu" (August 6, 2025).

He also shared additional information with a follow-up message: "Learn more here: https://t.co/Cwr5Ob85Dw" (August 6, 2025).

A day earlier, Alford posted an unrelated link without further comment: "https://t.co/Y1ptln639t" (August 5, 2025).

The establishment of local milk banks allows mothers in the area to contribute surplus breast milk for hospital use and community benefit. These efforts aim to support infants requiring donated milk due to medical needs.

Alford has represented Missouri’s 4th District since replacing Vicky Hartzler in Congress in 2023. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA degree in 1988.
