Rep. Mark Alford, who has represented Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently posted a series of messages on social media highlighting legislative achievements and honoring military service.
On August 6, 2025, Alford wrote, "One month ago, @POTUS signed the One, BIG Beautiful Bill into law!" This message marked the anniversary of a significant piece of legislation signed by the President.
The following day, August 7, Alford used his platform to pay tribute to fallen service members. He stated, "Taking the time to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice to serve our country. Thank you for your courage. "
Also on August 7, in recognition of National Purple Heart Day, Alford shared a personal story: "This National Purple Heart Day, we’d like to share an amazing story. About two years ago, we had the honor of a lifetime to present the Purple Heart award to Michelle Betz in recognition of her grandfather, Sgt. Merl Houlihan at Whiteman Air Force Base."
Alford succeeded Vicky Hartzler as representative for Missouri’s 4th district in 2023 and is currently serving in that role. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford earned his BA from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988.
