Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, shared several updates on his official X account on August 7, 2025, addressing local weather safety, state fair festivities, and support for a local athlete.

In one post from August 7, Alford emphasized his ongoing efforts to maintain the National Weather Service office in Pleasant Hill following a turbulent storm season: "After a particularly volatile storm season in Missouri, I have consistently fought to protect the NWS office in Pleasant Hill to ensure our communities are safe when severe weather strikes. Check out my questioning of Commerce Secretary Lutnick on the issue earlier this year https://t.co/74uPWlMm6".

Later that day, Alford celebrated the start of a major annual event in the state: "Happy Opening Day at the Missouri State Fair! Truman says hello…We look forward to seeing everyone next week! https://t.co/D4uBUStM7L" (posted August 7).

He also highlighted a local sports figure’s achievements with encouragement for their upcoming professional season: "Meet Show-Me Superstar, Blake Grupe! Best of luck this season with the New Orleans Saints. We’re proud of you! https://t.co/HJchVGRFat" (posted August 7).

Alford has served as U.S. Representative for Missouri’s 4th District since replacing Vicky Hartzler in 2023. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988.
