On August 15, 2025, Schmitt expressed appreciation for leadership at the University of Missouri System. He wrote, "Grateful to @UMSystem President Choi for giving me a tour of the @Mizzou Research Reactor which plays a critical role in providing cancer treatment and supporting our national defense."
