Rep. Mark Alford, who represents Missouri’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to reach out to constituents with messages ranging from service academy nominations to support for local sports teams.
On September 5, 2025, Alford posted a call to high school seniors interested in attending a service academy: "Attention high school seniors Do you feel called to serve? Apply to a Service Academy today! We are accepting nominations applications until October 1st, 2025. For more info, check out our website: https://t.co/yyXAvXbXLg https://t.co/5UVu0jKBYq". The message included information about the application deadline and directed students to his official website for further details.

Alford has represented Missouri’s 4th District since replacing Vicky Hartzler in 2023. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and currently resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988.
