Mizzou women's basketball will play Tulane on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The game will take place at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana, and will be broadcast on ESPN+ and the Tiger Radio Network.
Missouri enters the matchup after a season-opening win over Central Arkansas. Junior guard Shannon Dowell led the Tigers with 21 points and 12 rebounds in that game, putting her just 10 points away from reaching 1,000 career points. Senior forward Jordana Reisma also had a double-double, recording 12 points and 13 rebounds. Junior guard Grace Slaughter added 12 points and eight rebounds.
Dowell set a new program record with 23 free-throw attempts against Central Arkansas. She is also the first Missouri player to lead the team in scoring during their debut since Sophie Cunningham did so against Missouri State on November 13, 2015.
Reisma (13) and Dowell (12) are the first Tigers to collect more than ten rebounds each in a game since Slaughter (10) and Ashton Judd (10) achieved this against Belmont on November 6, 2023. Slaughter was named to the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year Preseason Watch List. Reisma holds the top field goal percentage among all NCAA returners at 67.7%.
Tulane comes into Thursday's contest with a record of 1-0 after narrowly defeating Campbell in their season opener. The Green Wave are coached by Ashley Langford, now in her second season leading the team. Last year, Langford guided Tulane to a 17-13 overall record and a second-round appearance in their conference tournament.
The Green Wave roster features Amira Mabry and Kendall Sneed, who scored 19 and 14 points respectively against Campbell. Sneed earned American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year honors last season and was selected for the AAC All-Freshman Team.
