Rep. Mark Alford, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri’s 4th district since 2023, called for a ban on individual stock trading by members of Congress and their spouses in a series of posts on November 12, 2025.

In his first post at 01:33 UTC, Alford stated, "We need to ban Members of Congress and their spouses from trading individual stocks. Full stop. Pass the PELOSI Act!!".

Later that morning at 03:06 UTC, he added, "More on our PELOSI Act https://t.co/nhg3Mm6bsD https://t.co/THaxONk1sD".

By the afternoon, Alford shifted focus to healthcare policy. At 14:07 UTC, he wrote, "Democrats broke healthcare with Obamacare — and Americans are paying the price. Now, under Speaker Johnson and Leader Scalise’s leadership, @HouseGOP is ready to fix it and put patients back in charge. https://t.co/ca4u6RM60H".

Alford succeeded Vicky Hartzler as the representative for Missouri’s 4th district after the 2022 election cycle. He was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963 and resides in Lake Winnebago. Alford earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988.
