Public Hearing Scheduled for Redesign of Former Flight Service Station at Columbia Regional Airport

The City of Columbia, Missouri, has announced a public hearing scheduled for May 6, 2024, regarding the proposed construction of improvements for the redesign of the former Automated Flight Service Station building at the Columbia Regional Airport. The purpose of the redesign is to repurpose the building for airport administration offices, car rental space, and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) offices.

According to the official notice, the estimated cost of this improvement project is $4,800,000.00. The funding for the project will come from various sources, including special obligation bonds, the Designated Loan Fund, transportation sales tax funds, gross receipts license tax on hotels and motels, and other lawfully appropriated funds.

In preparation for the public hearing, City Clerk Sheela Amin stated, "Done by order of the City Council." Interested citizens and parties are encouraged to attend the hearing, which will take place at the Council Chamber of City Hall in Columbia, Missouri, at 7:00 p.m. on May 6, 2024.
