The City of Columbia Public Works department is currently working to improve the condition of roads in Columbia. Over the summer and continuing into the fall, crews have been seen resurfacing roadways or applying pavement preservation treatments to slow down deterioration.

"For your safety and the safety of our workers, please drive cautiously near construction zones and follow the directions of flaggers," a city spokesperson said. "They are there to ensure traffic flows smoothly and safely during these improvements."

It is important to note that not all roads in Columbia are under the city's jurisdiction. Some roads are maintained by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), while others are managed by the Columbia Public Works department. A detailed map showing city and state road responsibilities, along with a full list of streets being maintained this year, can be found by visiting the City’s Public Street Viewer.

"Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we continue work keeping Columbia’s roads in top condition!" added the spokesperson.
