Moberly Regional Medical Center has initiated its third annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive to support the Christos Center Food Bank. The drive, which began on March 3 and will continue until March 28, encourages community participation in combating local hunger. Peanut butter is highly valued by food banks due to its nutritional benefits and long shelf life, yet it remains one of the least donated items.

Michael Hall, CEO of Moberly Regional Medical Center, stated: "Moberly Regional Medical Center obviously supports the patients who come through our doors, but we are also committed to supporting better health throughout our community." He highlighted that "the University of Missouri Interdisciplinary Center for Food Security estimates that nearly 14.2 percent of the residents in Randolph County are facing food insecurity," underscoring the importance of this initiative in addressing community health challenges.

The medical center invites residents and businesses from Moberly and nearby areas to contribute peanut butter or other nutritious alternatives like almond or sunflower seed butter. Donations should be in plastic jars and can be dropped off at the MRMC main lobby during weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Since its inception in 2023, the Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive has collected 1,500 jars thanks to contributions from MRMC employees, board members, and medical staff.
