MOBERLY, Mo. – Moberly Regional Medical Center (MRMC) has conducted a peanut butter drive, yielding over 550 jars to benefit the Christos Center Food Bank in Moberly. The initiative was part of the celebration of National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day, observed on April 2.

Donations came from MRMC’s employees, board members, medical staff, and local community members, contributing towards the "Jars of Love" event. This effort is particularly significant considering data from Feeding Missouri indicating that 14.2 percent of Randolph County residents face food insecurity, a known social determinant of health.

Peanut butter remains a critical donation for food banks due to its nutritional value and long shelf life, yet is among the least donated items. Food banks also urgently require supplies such as canned vegetables, pork and beans, macaroni and cheese, and healthy cereals.
